Contain your aim | Convey the rain  

It has been 16 years since the publishing of the last album, Whale Song, an ambient and sound orientated exploration.

Life went on as usual. Sometimes new ideas were sprung, written down or played out. They served more or less as pieces loosely laying out, instead of being parts of a bigger picture. I was fine with that, as much as I was with most of the experience I had in this city. Everything, and everyone, had its place.

Still some time has passed, by then things began to fall apart. Drastically and dramatically, it shattered the idea of what once this society, or home, was to me. We witnessed changes, for better or worse, and most often than not, they affected the core unknowingly.

It’s hard to believe if there is nothing to believe in. This is the time of departure and separation, to say the least. In hours such as this, perhaps the only thing we can do is to wait patiently, while gathering up and examining ideas deemed valuable. Maybe by doing so, we can find new meanings and purposes, and a chance to really breathe.

The works here, as a collection spans over two decades, help me go through some of the difficult times. In a way, they are more like close friends or companies, and each of them a unique character, a coordinate, and a story. Some were like dairy, some love letters … and some were time made real, despite being trapped inside a drifting bottle.

It is an enjoyable experience to revisit old thoughts and materials while developing new pieces. The creative and recording process spans over more than half a year including some hits and misses and a whole arc of learning. I am especially grateful to all who have the patience to take part in this project : bunn, Gabriel, Charlie, Shuying, Uncle Hung, Lok Hang, Edmund, Alok, Johnny and all at Harbour Records.

攜願 | 引霅

自上一隻氛圍聲音實驗專輯《鯨歌》（Whale Song）的出版，已十六年了。

生活每日如是。總有些時刻，好的想法萌生，就寫下來，彈出來。這些念頭，細碎的，散漫的，談不上由此可以構成更完整的圖景。但我喜歡如此。我在這城市裡的經驗片斷，也即如此，每件事，每個人，總有自若之位。

但有些日子過去了，事物自那時開始，分崩離析。碎得徹底，甚至戲劇性地，社會與家庭對我而言曾經意味的那些，不再完好。我們是這些變化的證人，好的變化或是壞的變化，更頻繁的，或相反的，它們同時指向某個位依然未知的核心。

無物值得放下「信」之時，便難於去信。輕輕講，這是別離與散逸的時代。如此情勢下，或許我們能做的，惟有不斷施以耐心，來等待，一邊拾起這些內懷價值的念頭，碎片，邊拾起，邊檢視。或許新的意義或矢志，也可由此而來，以及可以真正喘息的時機。

這裡的作品，來自過去二十年間，曾幫我度過很多艱難晦暗的時光。它們更像我的摯友或愛人，每一個，都個性獨異，是相濡以沫，也是身世幽然。有些作品，曾是一則日記，一些散落的情信……一些是真實的時光，儘管被囚於某隻波光間翻湧的瓶子裡。

重訪這些過去的想法與材料，發展為新的作品，於今是一次令人心悅的經驗。超過半年時間的創作與錄音，不斷擊中，錯失，尋找新鮮的弧度。我由衷感謝施我予耐心的夥伴：斌, Gabriel, 差利, 疏影, 雄仔叔叔, 樂行, Edmund, Alok, Johnny, 以及一眾維港唱片的朋友。

Brief Biography:

Wilson Tsang
Born and based in Hong Kong, Wilson Tsang is both a visual artist and an independent musician. His illustrations have been published in various printed and online media and his artworks showcased in numerous exhibitions such as Restricted Exposure (Hong Kong Fringe Festival, 1996), Playdium (OP Fotogallery, 1998), Out of Here (Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2004) and Rumble and Remedy (Indexg, Toronto, 2010). With motives travelling in and out of the boundaries of reality, the style of his works tends to be somewhat dark, abstract, childlike and spontaneous. As a musician, Wilson has been under the influence from early jazz and blues, folk, rock to modern electronic and ambient.  He has also collaborated with artists in other media including theatre, dance, poetry and film. 
To date, Wilson has published two books and four music albums including Twelve Tales in Eleven Monochromes (collection of short illustrated stories, 1996), Little Cold Red (CD published by Harbour Records) , Whale Song (CD with booklet of random poetry and paintings, 2008), and The Adventure of a Small-Headed Turtle (children book, 2012). 

曾永曦
出生於香港，從事視覺藝術，也是一位獨立的音樂人。他的插圖曾在各種印刷和在線媒體上出版，亦在許多展覽中展出，如有限空間, 私人剖白（香港藝穗節，1996），Playdium（OP Fotogallery，1998），Out of Here（香港藝術中心, 2004）和 Rumble and Remedy（Indexg，多倫多，2010）等。他的創作游走於現實的邊緣，風格傾向黑暗和抽象，亦帶點童心和隨意。音樂方面，Wilson一直受到早期爵士樂、藍調、民謠、搖滾以至電子和環境音樂的影響。曾與劇場、舞蹈、詩歌和電影等不同媒界創作人合作。
到目前為止，Wilson共出版了兩本書和四張音樂專輯，包括“Twelve Tales in Eleven Monochromes”（短篇故事集, 1996），”Little Cold Red”（音樂結集/維港唱片出版）, “Whale Song”（附有詩歌和繪畫小冊子的音樂結集）和 ”The Adventure of a Small-Headed Turtle”（兒童圖書，2012）。
