Talking Heads成員Chris Frantz與David Byrne相識於羅德島設計學院（Rhode Island School of Design），兩人在就學期間共同組成了一支名為The Artistics的樂團。

1974年春季學期，他們在Chris位於Benefit Street的公寓裡錄製了一卷Demo帶，其中收錄日後成為Talking Heads經典曲目的〈Warning Sign〉與〈Psycho Killer〉。這張全新合集珍藏這批早期錄音，並加上1975年至1976年間，由樂團原始三人陣容：貝斯手Tina Weymouth、Chris Frantz以及David Byrne錄製的另外11首Demo和Live曲目。再加一張7吋單曲黑膠，以THE ARTISTICS之名推出的〈Warning Sign〉＋〈Psycho Killer〉雙A單曲，相當稀有珍貴！
