他更認同 Brian Eno 對「人性化」電子音樂的信仰,而非 Kraftwerk 的超然態度,並反思了日漸衰老的友誼(《I'm Not Ready For The Change》)、臨終關懷(《Now That You're Gone》)以及人生的坎坷。
Brooklyn trio Nation Of Language lean adrift from icy synth precision, toward a warmer and looser lollop on their fourth album, Dance Called Memory. Frontman Ian Richard Devaney, known for unpicking queasy unease with analytic clarity, drafted many of these songs on guitar, a departure from their earlier synth-first method. He nods more to Brian Eno's belief in "human" electronic music than Kraftwerk's detachment, reflecting on ageing friendships ('I'm Not Ready For The Change'), end-of-life care ('Now That You're Gone'), and life's churn. It follows Strange Disciple (2023), a record nudging from cult favourites to broader appealers. Producer Nick Millhiser (LCD Soundsystem, Holy Ghost!) returns, helping twist chopped breaks and mangled percussion into a more tactile rubdown.
