This 45th-anniversary edition of John Cage's Cheap Imitation does as a completely faithful replica of the original 1977 Cramps Records release. It arrives in a lovely gatefold sleeve on a nice 180g slab of purple wax. It is yet another vital piece of modern classical quality from the legendary Cage spread across just three tunes, one of which takes up the entirety of the second side. 'Band 1' is a minimal piece based around simple, spacious piano keys, and so is piece two, but with a more melancholic edge. 'Solid Band' gets a little more joyous in the way the keys are played.
