2003 年，來自蘇格蘭格拉斯哥的幾位男生，一邊討論著樂團該取什麼名字，一邊半開玩笑的發下豪語，要讓這個世界記得他們。一年後，他們以一首〈Take Me Out〉雙雙躍上英國和美國歌曲排行榜前三名，接著陸續拿下水星音樂獎、全英音樂獎、數個 NME Awards 和葛萊美提名，誰能想到 Franz Ferdinand 創團的初衷，只是想讓女孩能跟著他們的音樂跳舞。

Franz Ferdinand 不但將迪斯可、後龐克、新浪潮等曲風翻新成獨一無二的面貌，也正如他們玩音樂的初衷，開創出搖擺動感的龐克舞曲，加上藝術性極高的樂團風格，瞬間成為當時樂壇最鮮明的焦點。

如今出道將近 20 年，他們即將發行精選專輯《Hits To The Head》，主唱 Alex Kapranos 形容精選輯的歌序就像參加一場音樂節，想把所有最熱門的單曲都排進去，像是前奏吉他一刷下去全場都會尖叫的〈Take Me Out〉、曾在 MTV2 每小時播放一次的〈Do You Want To〉，還有〈No You Girls〉和〈The Dark Of The Matinée〉等經典曲目，同時也有〈Outsiders〉這首對樂團和樂迷來說都別具意義的歌曲，加上兩首新歌〈Billy Goodbye〉和〈Curious〉，共 20 首曲目收錄在這張精選輯當中。
